End of a blog . . .

Mike and I started this blog one year ago and documented the first year of our marriage. Our next step will be to create a book of the highlights of this year to remember for the rest of our lives and share with our future children and grandchildren. Thank you for taking this journey with us on our first year. Our love has grown stronger every day and I look forward to the day I write this entry at the end of our 25th and 50th anniversary. This may be the end of a blog but it marks the beginning of the rest our lives.

xoxo

Day 365: October 3, 2011

One year!
We enjoyed the top layer of our wedding cake
and episodes of South Park to celebrate our
first year of marriage.
Love <3

Day 364: October 2, 2011

Anniversary weekend.
For our one-year anniversary Mike reserved a hotel room
at the Palomar Hotel and dinner reservations
at Craft in Dallas, TX.
We are very lucky.

Day 363: October 1, 2011

Progress.
Very slow progress.
Apparently Mike has determined doing homework is
more important than doing puzzles.
That's a good thing.

Day 362: September 30, 2011

Cupcakes.
I baked cupcakes and Mike decided to help
by putting frosting on them and adding fruity tic tacs for candy.
They were disgusting.

Day 361: September 29, 2011

It's Autumn!
Nines looks a little bit grumpy about the weather change,
but I agree with the scarecrow.
:)

Day 360: September 28, 2011

Date night.
Never forget to make time for each other.
Our greatest advice from my CSUS advisor.

Day 359: September 27, 2011

iPad happiness.
Apparently money can buy happiness.
Or at least distractions.

Day 358: September 26, 2011

Birthday blues.
I guess the birthday festivities can't last forever.
Especially when you're grounded to doing homework for a week to catch up.

Sunday, September 25, 2011

Day 357: September 25, 2011

Oh game day.
Aftermath of game day at OU,
a "dry" campus.

Day 356: September 24, 2011

Rowdy crew.
Old and young, Mizzou and OU, we were ready to tailgate!

Day 355: September 23, 2011

Ol' timers crew.
Jim and his friends Dan and Mike came to visit for the weekend
to watch the OU vs. Mizzou game.
In their downtime they liked to hang out on the back patio.

Day 354: September 22, 2011

Shots!
Mike's surprise birthday party at Blu.
Would have been better if Jace were there
but he was a bit preoccupied . . .

Day 353: September 21, 2011

Cheers!
Birthday cheers for Mike's birthday.
Happy birthday!

Day 352: September 20, 2011

Bro-mance.
For Mike's 29th birthday I flew his friend Jace Reed
out to Oklahoma for fun and craziness.

Day 351: September 19, 2011

Surprise!
I came home today and my loving hubbie had bought me some books.
I think he might be trying to tell me something.
Hmmm.

Day 350: September 18, 2011

Duck!
Make was able to find a store that sells organic duck,
my favorite ☺

Day 349: September 17, 2011

Death by Misfit.
The poor gopher never saw her coming.
Hopefully.

Day 348: September 16, 2011

Blurry trees.
An attempt to do a "drive-by" shot
and capture the changing leaves.

Day 347: September 15, 2011

Change in the weather.
The fall season is slowly dropping upon us.
Lots of thunder storms this weekend, yey!

Day 346: September 14, 2011

Gingerbread poop.
So I wanted to make gingerbread cookies and after buying all the ingredients
realized I don't own any cookie cutters.
So instead of making gingerbread men I made gingerbread poop.
Mike really liked them though.

Day 345: September 13, 2011

Hanging with the natives.
In the University Union there is an elevator full of life-size Native Americans.
It's strange. And really small.
But apparently does not stop Erin from throwing up bunny ears.

Day 344: September 12, 2011

Cracked.
Apparently a blizzard in the winter and 60 days of heat over 100°
is not a good thing for a house.
Looks like we'll need to look into fixing a shifted foundation.

Day 343: September 11, 2011

Puzzle time.
Apparently the 1,000-piece puzzles were too easy
so Mike has moved up to a 2,000-piece puzzle
of Van Gogh's Starry Night,
where every piece looks the same.

Day 342: September 10, 2011

Snacks ♥
Homemade chai tea latte and gluten-free chocolate cupcakes.
Yum!

Day 341: September 9, 2011

Deep thought.
While waiting for our wonderful meal
at Coriander Cafe Mike caught up on some much needed
Words with Friends time.

Day 340: September 8, 2011

We have a visitor.
Apparently our neighbor's dog has decided it was time
to expand his backyard and take over ours.

Day 339: September 7, 2011

Home sweet (old) home.
My office at school for the last 2 years.

Day 338: September 6, 2011

Go OU!
More pictures for the CGSA website project.

Monday, September 5, 2011

Day 337: September 5, 2011

The Garden Spider.
Looks like we're getting ready for Halloween a little bit early this year.
Apparently this spider isn't harmful to humans though (thankfully!)
Plus it made a good excuse to play with the aperture on my camera.

Day 336: September 4, 2011

Poker night.
Although he was up in chips most of the game
Mike ended in 5th place.
Not bad out of 12 people at a home game.

Day 335: September 3, 2011

Boomer!
Even the OU mascots came out to tailgate at Erich's house
before the first football game of the season.

Day 334: September 2, 2011

Weekend times.
Starting off gameday/Labor Day weekend right
with a fruity margarita drink at Cheddar's.
Yum!

Day 333: September 1, 2011

Bizzell Library.
As part of a web design project I decided to go around campus
and take pictures of iconic buildings/statues.
This is the library where Mike and I spend most of our time.

Day 332: August 31, 2011

Hmmm . . .
Look what I found on Erich's desk.
Get out of Oklahoma in two semesters or less?!
I'm on it.

Day 331: August 30, 2011

Concert night.
Apparently in Oklahoma this is as close to a real concert as we can get:
Live video footage at the movie theater.
They did play their entire new album so Mike was ecstatic.

Day 330: August 29, 2011

Hard earned poker money.
Mike bought us a Kindle!
I get to use it for my electronic readings for class
but I'm sure we'll share it on trips and travels.

Day 329: August 28, 2011

P-p-p-poker face.
Out of 90 people Mike ended up in 9th place
and won a couple hundred dollars.
Not as good as first place ($3,000) but good enough for us :)

Day 328: August 27, 2011

Saturday night fun.
If you visit Oklahoma for no other reason
it must be for this.
DNR: 11% beer
brewed and sold only in the state of Oklahoma.

Day 327: August 26, 2011

OU Concert Series.
As part of OU's Howdy Week,
we saw Stardeath & White Dwarves, BUCHO, and Chrome Pony.
I only caught the last show and I must say the nephew of
Wayne Coyne is very similar in (eccentric) style.

Day 326: August 25, 2011

Herb Garden Experiment: Part II
After last winter's herb garden finally bit the dust this summer,
I decided to try growing some herbs again after all the summer traveling.
We will (hopefully) soon start having cilantro to eat.

Day 325: August 24, 2011

Sleepy time.
Sadly, this is how we sleep every night.
He's a pretty good cuddler.

Day 324: August 23, 2011

Sad panda.
Maybe the broken-hearted panda should have been a sign
not to eat at the sushi restaurant.
They had worms in their edamame.
Ew.

Day 323: August 22, 2011

First day of school blues.
As I tried to prepare to teach my class, Frankie decided
the textbook made a better napping spot instead.

Day 322: August 21, 2011

The chef.
Mike made an amazing meal of organic chicken, potatoes, and onions.
Very tasty!

Day 321: August 20, 2011

Live BULL riding.
In celebration of Katie's birthday we went to an authentic honky tonk
bar in OKC with real, LIVE bull riding.
The bull was going pretty fast so all I got was a blur,
but you get the picture.

Day 320: August 19, 2011

Boomer!
Erich had us over for crab night after his neighbor Dan brought back 20 1b. of
fresh crab from the Florida Keys.
He also bragged about his ridiculous liquor collection in
preparation for the football season.

Day 319: August 18, 2011

Souvenirs!
My friend David brought me back some
local jewelry from his trip home in China over the summer.
Mike says I need some authentic Chinese clothing
to wear them with though.

Day 318: August 17, 2011

Paperweight.
Mike's jaw nearly dropped to the floor when his Business Law book
arrived in the mail.
He was much happier to find out his class was only going to go through about 1/3
of it this semester.
